WDM USA Webinars:
THE ROAD AHEAD WEBINAR SERIES
The Road to Safer Surfacings
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH 2020 at 3:00 PM (EDT)
Building on themes of optimizing safety in project design, WDM USA’s newest webinar in The Road Ahead series looks at opportunities to improve road safety through technical road maintenance and safety-focused asset management.
Join WDM USA and Mark Owen of the Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) to discuss how NZTA’s desire to proactively reduce crashes led them to adopt a national pavement friction management program in “The Road to Safer Surfacings.”
Mark will share key considerations in program design and how research and changing budgetary conditions continue to shape NZTA’s approach, outcomes, and future program goals.
Whether focused on the big picture or day-to-day decisions, attendees will learn how NZTA’s pavement friction management program went from concept to implementation and where, when, and how NZTA invests to achieve better safety outcomes.
