THE ROAD AHEAD WEBINAR SERIES
Safer Roads as the “New Normal”:
New Perspectives and Tools in the post-COVID-19 World
THURSDAY, AUGUST 13TH 2020 at 2:00 PM (EDT)
After a brief decline in crashes in early 2020, the economic and social impact of Covid-19 has placed enormous stress on the already overstretched US road safety sector.
“Safer Roads as the ‘New Normal’” takes a look at the lessons learned from previous crises along with new tools and techniques to combat crashes and mitigate a return to the road safety status quo.
Join WDM USA and Robert Wunderlich, Director for the Center for Transportation Safety at the Texas Transportation Institute, to discuss:
- How safety trends during the Covid-19 pandemic differ from the Great Recession
- Tools and techniques for identifying locations and systemic treatments with a high potential for safety improvement
- Evaluating and optimizing safety in project design
- Implementing a safe systems approach
Attendees will get practical guidance on evaluating and implementing safety improvements that make the most of available resources, as well as concrete steps to take so that safer roads become the “new normal.”
