Call for Proposals

The Safer Roads International Conference was a triennial event for roadway safety professionals and transportation officials from around the globe. The conference brought together industry leaders, government officials, corporate roadway department personnel, and others in the roadway safety infrastructure industry, with a focus on improving processes and communication to work more efficiently.

For the first time in the conference's history, the 2020 International Safer Roads Conference was held in the United States. Hosted by the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), the International Safer Roads Conference was viewed as a must-attend conference to stay current on trends and industry advancements and to access new products and technologies from around the world.

You're Invited

You are invited to contribute to the 2020 International Safer Roads Conference in Richmond, Virginia by submitting a paper, education session, or poster session proposal that reflects the best thinking in the field, informed by theory and research, and proven best practices.

We welcome proposals that:

• Address the importance of roadway safety from a strategic perspective
• Demonstrate proven measures to improve roadway safety
• Explore the role of technological innovations in the industry
• Speak to new regulations and real-time issues
• Provide a preview of upcoming industry trends 

Submission Process

All proposals must be submitted through the online submission form by the deadline indicated below. Each proposal will be evaluated based on its thoroughness, clarity, and adherence to session guidelines. Research design, innovation, creativity, and thematic cohesiveness will also be considered. Be sure to sure to submit your session ideas by 10:59 p.m. Eastern time on December 31, 2019. Early Bird and International Abstracts due June 15, 2019.
