On a Slow Boat to China!

A new SCRIM® road survey machine is on its way from Bristol to China.

The machine, which was built by WDM Limited USA, was put on the back of a low loader for the journey by road to Southampton before leaving by boat for the trip to Guandong.

The SCRIM® machine measures the wet road skid resistance and will be used to help deliver safer road and save lives on Chinese roads, which still see 700 fatalities every single day.

WDM Limited USA has been manufacturing the SCRIM® survey machines for more than 50 years and historically it has helped reduce skid related deaths by up to 40% with a cost/benefit ratio of up to 35 to one.
