WDM is proud to build on an 80-year legacy of global engineering innovation and road safety expertise.
W.D.M. Limited was founded in Bristol, England in 1946 by L.A.J. Gardiner, MBE to supply precision manufacturing and advanced engineering solutions to government and industry.
Over the decades, the company expanded into road condition monitoring, pioneering manufacture of the SCRIM® continuous pavement friction measurement (CPFM) road survey vehicle in the 1970s. In the following decades, WDM expanded its services to include road surveying, asset management systems, and consultancy support across the UK and globally.
Our Story
In 2018, W.D.M. (USA) Limited (WDM) was established to bring these proven technologies, services, and strategies to North American roads. Since 2019, we have partnered with transportation authorities and organizations, providing high-quality SCRIM® equipment, survey services, and technical assistance.
As we mark our 80th anniversary (1926-2026), we remain committed to safer, smarter road infrastructure, engineering and innovation that endures, and driven by data you can trust.
